Day 1: Arrival in Northern Serengeti

After having breakfast, you’ll be transported to Zanzibar Airport for a flight to Northern Serengeti. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a game drive to track the Great Migration. It is celebrated for its spectacular annual migration, where millions of animals traverse the plains, and offers an exceptional game-viewing experience with opportunities to see large herds of buffaloes, smaller groups of elephants and giraffes, and thousands of other animals like elands, topis, kongonis, impalas, and Grant’s gazelles.

Day 2: Northern Serengeti

After breakfast at the camp, you’ll head out with a picnic lunch for a game drive to witness the Great Migration in Serengeti National Park. From August to October, this region becomes a wildlife haven, with the Mara River as a key feature. While it’s common for herds to cross the river, finding an actual crossing can be challenging and often depends on luck.

Day 3: Central Serengeti

After breakfast at the camp, you’ll drive to Central Serengeti for a full-day game drive focusing on the Big Five. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Serengeti National Park is famed for its robust population of resident wildlife, particularly the Big Five, including the largest lion population in Africa, with over 3,000 lions, and the elusive African leopard commonly seen in the Seronera region, along with around 1,000 African elephants.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast at the camp, you’ll head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a full-day crater tour game drive, including a picnic lunch. In the evening, you’ll drive to a lodge near Lake Manyara National Park for dinner and an overnight stay. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unflooded and unbroken caldera, is a stunning natural wonder, measuring approximately 20 kilometers across, 600 meters deep, and covering 300 square kilometers. During your visit, you’ll explore Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, renowned for its flamingos, hippos, and other water birds.

Day 5: Lake Manyara NP

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive, showcasing Tanzania’s diverse birdlife with over 400 recorded species; even first-time visitors might spot around 100 species in a single day. The Park also features a belt of acacia woodland, home to the famous tree-climbing lions and impressive tusked elephants. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Arusha Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar
