OVERVIEW
This tour will start from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park which is a 5 – 6-hour drive. On arrival, you’ll have a game drive and Maasai cultural tour. Later on, enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at Camp Bastian Mikumi on full board accommodation. The camp is set 13 km from Mikumi Hippo pool, and it offers free Wifi. Some units have a seating area and/or a terrace.
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi NP
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam or the airport and drive you to the train station for a safari to Morogoro Town, departing at 6:00 AM and arriving at 8:00 AM. Upon arrival at the SGR station, our driver will take you to Mikumi National Park, where you’ll arrive at 9:30 AM. After check-in, you’ll enjoy a guided game drive across the park, with a good chance of viewing various animals. The game drive will continue until lunch at 1:00 PM, and then resume until 4:00 PM. The day will conclude with a Maasai Cultural Tour, where you’ll visit a local Maasai village to experience the culture and lifestyle. You’ll return to the camp around 6:30 PM.

Day 2: Mikumi to Dar es Salaam
Start the day with breakfast at 6:30 AM, followed by a day game drive in Mikumi National Park, where you’ll observe a wide variety of animals and birds in the easily accessible Savannah plains. After a midday lunch, continue the game drive until 4:00 PM. Then, begin the 1.5-hour drive back to Morogoro Town, where you’ll check in at the train station. The safari back to Dar es Salaam departs at 7:00 PM, arriving at 9:30 PM, with drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
